On the south of Yogya, you can find quite a few natural and amazing beaches that offer you enjoyment. Yogyakarta beach is different than Bali which mostly is mature beach resorts. You cannot expect such beach resorts in Yogya. However, yogyakarta beaches are still worth seeing, especially some beaches in Gunung kidul which is still very natural. There are at least three beaches that worth a visit when you come to Yogyakarta.

1. Parangtritis
Parangtritis Beach

Parangtrisitis is the most popular beach in Yogyakarta. One of the reasons it becomes popular is because it is located not too far away from city center, only about 30 kilometers. Another reason is because of its natural view. Parangtrisits offers you wide ocean view with high waves which swash around beautifully. The sound is so loud that it offers you something different. You can also feel the wind blows strongly hit your body when you are standing on the seashore. Those are really enjoyable entertainment that you will only experience at Parangtritis.
You can also hire a house-cart to look around the beaches to get different views or if you want to, you can also ride a horse by yourselves just to try something different. All of them can be rented at negotiable price.

2. Ngrenehan
Ngrenehan Beach

Ngrenehan beach is located at Kanigoro village, Gunung Kidul regency, about 60 kilomteres from city center. Like most beaches in Gunung Kidul, Ngrenehan offers natural view which still far from modernism. You will not find any resorts or cafe at Ngrenehan, but it offers you natural place with natural view as well. This beach is quite narrow and the waves are not as high as Parangtritis. However, that actually makes this beach very interesting since you can swim or play around without worrying that you will sink. Another attraction is that you will perhaps feel ‘homy’ here because still very few people know about this beach. It seems that you are the owner of the beach when you come here.

3. Ngobaran
Ngobaran Beach

Ngobaran is located very close to Ngrenehan, only about two kilometers. Ngobaran and Ngrenehan cannot be separated. If you come to one of them, you’ll have to come to the other. As Ngrenehan, people do not really know much this beach, only very few tourists come to this beach. As a result, the beach is so clear and natural. The air is so fresh that you can feel very relax and comfortable. The coastal line in Ngobaran is wider than Ngrenehan, and the waves are also relatively higher. So, it is better that you do not swim around here. However, you can still enjoy the beauty of green seaweed that spreads all over the beach. So beautiful!
